On holiday with our 2 grown up sons in Essaouira, we wanted to get out of town and explore. Our day trek with Ecotourisme et Randonnees was a great success. We walked 10 miles, through argan trees, to a beautiful deserted beach, to waterfalls, and finally stopped for a fantastic lunch at a house where we were made welcome by... More

We booked a first tour for the waterfalls and it was so good that we booked another one two days later for the oasis and the visit of a potter. Our guide Othman was extremely knowledgeable and introduced us to many different aspects of the local culture and nature. He takes the time to talk to everyone and answers all... More

Really fascinating, interesting & informative walking tours with highly knowledgeable guides. Opened an entirely new vista for me of the Essaouirian countryside & people. The Argan forests are an incredibly necessary natural resource but are being lost at an alarming rate. The ecology of the area was explained. A women's cooperative was visited - vital to the rural economic development... More

We went on a half day Argan Valley hike with Otthman who was lovely. He was very well informed, can speak English and French, and is easy to get along with. We were a group of six, four of whom spoke little English and conversed entirely in French, which felt a bit isolating but Otthman politely translated the conversation so... More

My husband and I enjoyed a hike with Edward and three other people. We walked through an argan forest saw goats in the trees, camels, donkeys, sheep and other wildlife. We walked along a deserted beach and through terraced farmland. We also saw a waterfall and other interesting landscapes. We enjoyed a fresh and tasty lunch and spoke with the... More

Full of adventures with our special guide Osman. It started with Argan forests, followed by sand dunes where you can roll on, then a lovely walk by the sea side with the sea gulls, rocky area with waterfalls, rest at an oriental lodge with tea and appetizers> and lovely bread,

Off the beaten track we were able to view various different landscapes in just a few hours. An argan wood, rolling sand dunes, a waterfall, stoney paths leading through maize and barley fields up to a traditional Berber house for tea and a nutritious snack of warm bread, peanut amalou, olive oil, argan oil, honey and thyme butter. Yum! Othman... More

These small group randonnees have been a major highlight of our three visits to Essaouira. They are so well guided and give an extended picture of Moroccan life that we could never discover by ourselves. We had so much enjoyed our day excursion two years ago, to a village weekly market followed by an idyllic 2 hour ramble through the... More
