Area is suitable for newbie in snorkeling. As it's got a beach, and control area for snorkelers. Good that now the local authority are taking small steps in ensuring that the the marine life don't get trashed e.g. banning fins on snorkelers that might break the corals. Dislike that some tourist can be inconsiderate and still litter.

Beware of strong rip currents near the shipwreck. It can pull you outside the designated snorkel/swim area and into boat traffic / rocks. If you do get caught in the rip current, grab hold of the bouy lines (that is used to mark the snorkel/swim area) and pull your self back to shore using the lines.

Too many people. Difficult to snorkel. Go near the shipwreck is much better. Along the way can see a few turtles popping their heads.

This is a marvelous marine park in Redang. You don't have to go far in to see fish swimming by. As long as you have bread in your hands, the fish will come flocking! If anything, it gets a bit too crowded with travellers from around the island, but nonetheless a great time will be had by all. I don't... More

Water is in its bluish/greenish beauty. Fish abound even just close to the shore. There's even an elongated fish that I do not know the name of. Haha. Didn't enjoy the corals though as much as I did in Krabi. But the fish come in all sizes and colors. The right side of the island has a spot where two... More

Did some island hoppings and visited quite a number of snorkelling spots, this has to be the best. The variety and amount of fishes here are just incredible.

I was here last few days. I had to purchase a RM5 ticket to get to this park. It was easier to see fishes around here. Even if you're scared of going to deep sea, you still be able to see the colorful fishes at the water level just below your knees with one condition, you've to bring along a... More

You only had to put your snorkel a centimetre under the surface to be in a new world - there were masses of fish all around. The water was crystal clear, no current - all very easy. The water is about 28, but we still wore shorty wetsuits to give a bit of buoyancy and protect from teh equatorial sun!
