Our stay at Anah Rais was great. Nice people, helpful, good excurions, wonderful food (maybe except for breakfast / not our peace of cake) but most of all relaxing with really nice people. more

After 3 days at Annah Rais it's the genuine friendliness and hospitality that remains. I liked well organised tours and the casual conversations. The surrounding area is beautiful. The guides are all locals so you get to understand their lives. Anna Rais is a living longhouse not a museum so you see the transition from the traditional to the modern.... more

Mr. Edward makes sure you enjoy every minute and that you feel part of the family. He gave us an excellent insight into how the village people lived, both past and present. The trek into the jungle was amazing with Rambo as our guide! The food was top notch and if you haven't tried bamboo chicken yet make sure you... more

This longhouse is a great alternative to a full-on expedition to the Sarawak interior. It is a real, modern-day Bidayuh village. But only a little over an an hour's drive from Kuching. OK. Tribal ways have changed. And so have the Bidayuh people. Most are Christians nowadays. The village reflects that change. Thankfully, this means you can stay in a... more

Our stay at Annah Rais was a highlight of our trip to Sarawak. You are made to feel welcome right from arrival. The treks are great, but make sure you drink lots of water. Paula was a great guide who gave us interesting insights into Bidayuh culture. Thanks to Arthur for the pratonk demonstration, lessons and longhouse tour. A previous... more

The home stay at Annah Rais Longhouse is worth the trip from Kuching. Edward and his family and friends will make sure that you will learn as much as possible about the Bidayuh culture. (including the use of a blow pipe) Great food and unlimited delicious tuak is included in the stay. The surrounding scenery is outstanding. I recommend exploring... more

we booked a one night package. We enjoyed the tour round the longhouse and feel that we learned what life is like for the villagers in the present day, as well as in the past. My daughters enjoyed dressing in the traditional clothes to take part in the dance and also learning to play the bamboo instrument. The highlight of... more

We stayed for one night at the Annah Rais longhouse in April 09. Edward and his son Cab are incredibly hospitable people catering as best they can to your every need. There are a number of beautiful natural attractions nearby (waterfalls, rapids, swimming holes, jungle treks). However, because we slept on standard matresses in a structure with cable television, flush... more
