This place is call Kuching Waterfront, not Kuching Esplanade. This is a nice place right in the city, within walking distance from the hotels in the city but it is almost a dead place with not much ongoing daily activities apart from the occasional events organised during certain time of the year. I think it is high time the authorities... More

For those visiting Kuching, this is probably a place you will visit at least once. The waterfront is a beautiful place with great views over the river and provides a nice walk under the shade of the trees. Along the waterfront there are multiple places where you can catch a boat to the other side of the river cheaply. Multiple... More

I arrived in Kuching on Christmas Day so made my way up to the waterfront for an evening meal. It was lovely to stroll along by the tea-coloured river, with fairy lights and hawkers in equal measures. This is seen as the heart of Kuching and there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity.

Located at the river bank of Sarawak River. About 1.5km in length. It forms part of the tourist centre. During day time, you can take the small boat (sampang) across the river to the opposite bank to visit the orchid garden (less than RM1 per person). You also can join the river cruise in the evening. Quite a relaxing place.... More

Walk along the esplanade past the souvenir, food and drink stalls, watch the boat taxis cross the river and just generally enjoy the heat and the peace of it all. Visit the bazaar across the road and look at the wide range of goods that they have for sale. Go a little further and you come across the food stores... More

The water front is one of Kuchings best attributes along with its people, the light day and night gives beautiful views. Here you are allowed to stroll, sit and wander without being accosted as so many places in the world. The are places to eat and drink, and on occation goods for sale. Don't forget the river itself, for 1... More

We walked here daily for 8 days - usually 5pm-7pm around sunset. It has families and folks milling and strolling with buskers and musicians playing. Food & drinks available from stalls. We saw the sunset at the top end by the boatyard several nights - which was stunning views across the river and mountains of Kubah. Plenty of space to... More

We began our journey from Hilton Hotel at around 6:00pm on a Saturday evening, the atmosphere was tranquil and relaxed. We observed buskers setting up their musical and PA equipment, souvenir store holders setting up their stores in twilight, it was a wonderful sight. The “walk and stop and walk” journey took us about 45 min to arrive at Plaza... More
