Nice place for a stroll down by the river. Great at sunset. Plenty of benches. New boardwalk on the other side. Catch a boat over for some food or the fort or the orchid garden.
Very safe to walk along and see the river. Great at sunset. Could do with some markets or other activities on the weekend though as very quiet. best to catch water taxi further up river on weekend as Markets up there which we didn't realise

Very pleasant walk along the waterfront, especially in the cool (relatively) of the evening when the lights are on.
Great place to stroll and relax. Nothing much to look at but there are a few food stalls about. Grab something to eat, find a bench and relax. Look out for the information plaques on the ground. Catch a boat. Relax relax relax.
Ok, but the weather wasn't kind when we were in Kuching so the Esplande probably wasn't as busy as it normally be.
Took a walk there on Sunday afternoon after checking in our hotel, place was deserted except for a few characters. Place is badly maintained and dirty.. there was nothing to do, buy, eat or see!
