It's very nice to walk along the esplanade along the river as long as it's not too hot. You may stop by the Chinese Immigration Museum nearby, which is free for admission, and continue your stroll, or walk to the street side shops for souvenirs and continue toward a Western style fortress, right across from the Court House. We went to the waterfront everyday for a stroll as we were staying in the vicinity. I had the best meal here at Kiosk number 1, a burger and steak place. Despite having a limited menu, they do the burgers to perfection. The prices are ridiculously cheap (£1.50 for a handmade burger) and the flavour is impeccable. The steak was... More

We were lucky to be staying in this area as we were able to walk to this quite regularly, it is beautiful at night and there is stalls to buy souveneirs from at a reasonable price, also ferries to cross to the other side for only 1RM which is cheap and if you want to go on a river cruise... More

The place is clean. Unfortunately, we went there at Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, so most of the cafes and shops were closed.

Just walking around in the evening was a lot of fun. There are some lovely cafes and tiny shops with many diverse handicraft items. Check out their kek lapis and try the James Brooke bistro by the waters

Best place to having a night roaming with friends. We can get best "keropok lekor" in town too! There are some buskers entertainment along the streets. Enjoy the music with some "keropok lekor".

The place is nice to walk about after dinner with some cool breeze and catch the lightings of the buildings along the waterfront. You can see the changing lights of the Astana and the huge Dewan Undangan Negeri Sarawak on the other side of the river. There is also a big board of "VMY 2014" which changes lights too.

We walked this often during our 9 day sojourn in Kuching. Parts are green and inviting with seats and shade trees. Some stretches are quite hot to walk and boat ramps to sampans are unprotected and the river polluted. It might be more interesting outside of Ramadan.

Waterfront of Kuching is amazing and there are lot of bazars around this waterfront which are bustling with people on weekends. Ship Cruise is one of the other option which can be taken for getting whole view of this waterfront. Ship Cruise ticket is of 60 RM with juices and cakes unlimited for 2 hour cruise. One of the must... More

Lots of live music stationed along the waterfront which was lovely. Lots of people, families and couples strolling along enjoying the evening. Food and drink stalls stationed along the river bank. It is a shame, however that the river is so dirty and it did make me wonder about the fish that people were eating from it!!
