A nice hangout place at night for couple with beautiful scenery of Astana, The Dewan Undangan Negeri Building. It is surrounded with small food stalls and local street performer busking around by the esplanade. Suitable place for couples to have calm, chilly walk. Beware of mosquitoes attack!

Visited the esplanade on our first day in Kuching and by day it is very quiet, didn't think much of it (might have also been the public holiday contributing). But went again this evening for dinner and it's beautiful at night and very lively!!

Sarawak River is the Yarra River of Kuching. Something like that :) I love this place as I get to see Kuching very closely. This walk is free, so I'd go again - to admire the city and the river. I also love that it's so near to everything other important landmarks in Kuching like the Main Bazaar, the Carpenter... More

We were fortunate to be in Kuching during the annual Sarawak Regatta event which takes place over a 4 day period and we caught the last 2 days which included a Parade through the town on Saturday evening and various Paddle boat and Dragon boat racing on the river. The place was buzzing all day with lots of stalls on... More

An excellent day or night walk along the river. We felt safe and relaxed. We were here during the annual Dragon Boat Regatta. Calm, relaxing, buzzing, food outlets, close to our hotel.

It was a nice walk along the river with food and drink vendors for the hot day. Having a beer at one of the riverside cafes was relaxing

It's very nice to walk along the esplanade along the river as long as it's not too hot. You may stop by the Chinese Immigration Museum nearby, which is free for admission, and continue your stroll, or walk to the street side shops for souvenirs and continue toward a Western style fortress, right across from the Court House. This section... More

We went to the waterfront everyday for a stroll as we were staying in the vicinity. I had the best meal here at Kiosk number 1, a burger and steak place. Despite having a limited menu, they do the burgers to perfection. The prices are ridiculously cheap (£1.50 for a handmade burger) and the flavour is impeccable. The steak was... More
