It is nice to walk during any point of time as long as it doesn't rain. However, all my local friends advice that do not go there at night as the crime rate is high. The night view is splendid if the state parliament building is lighted up. I stay nearby, so I took a walk during the day time... More

It's really nice to walk along the riverside at night. Colourful lanterns and lights mirroring in the water. You can buy food and drinks along the riverside, and there's also some restaurants. A must if you're in Kuching.

We visited the Esplanade from our cruise ship. The city shuttled us in and dropped us right on the path. It is well designed on a pleasant, clean waterfront. The river is clean and the boats out on the river create a calm atmosphere. Along the path are bronze plaques with historical information. It is a pleasant activity to walk... More

This runs along the river and is a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon or evening. It is well lit and full of locals having a good time. There is food and entertainment.

The riverfront is nice but it is a bit dirty and under construction. There is a lack of international food except for 1 restaurant by the riverside. Nothing impressive here except for a string of old shoplots who offers all the things that tourist needs.

Kuching Esplanade is quite scenic by evening when it is not so hot for visitors to stroll around while enjoying the sunset view and the night view (colourful lightings).

Used to be one of my favourite places to visit. It is now very run down. Considering this is right in the midst of Kuching city, it's a real shame :(

You are recommend to bring along your smartphone at least, the view during the sunset is simply breathtaking. From here, u can see the state assembly building. If u wonder where this city is originated, u can stroll along this esplanade and look around it, there is a cat. In Malay, native language of Malaysia cat means kucing, thus Kuching... More

Strolling while eating ice-cream or nice fried fish crackers (keropok lekor) and see the beautiful view of the riverside and Kuching landmark, Dewan Undangan Negeri. you can take a ride to the other side of the river by using the 'river taxi' which only costs you 50 cents per person :)
