After reading reviews on here we decided to take the small boat down the river for one hour, then across to the Orchid Garden. We paid 38 for 2 of us, & 4 RM just to cross the river on the way back. The Orchid Gardens were most beautiful even at this time of year, & we got some amazing... More

If you love flowers, you will like it. We ditched the sarawak cruise Rm60 per person and took the small boats to cross the river like the locals. From Kuching waterfront Sarawak river cruise point to Astana to cross the river is only 50 cents per person. The orchid garden was free entry. Saw 2 couples who had married and... More

The park closed every monday. The cheapest way to get there is my boat across the sarawak river and took a walk for 250 meters to the left of Astana, the Governor's resident.

Lovely place to see the orchids but I would suggest visiting here in early September as the colours 'die off' a little in the heat after that date.

Do take the short boat ride across the river and walk about 10 minutes. It is well signposted. It opens at 9.30 and the best time to go is a Sunday as there no school groups. It is free entry and you can take as long as you like to enjoy all the beautiful colours. There are so many varieties.A lovely... More

I have always loveee orchids! Here, they have various types of orchids and all of them are well taken care of. They are healthy, with big & vibrant color petals. Also, there is no entrance fee. If you like to hangout around here, they have a small cafe.

Best things are for free. It's true, as the orchid garden is free of charge (huge surprise) and is lovely. We were lucky enough to be there during the Orchid Competition, so there were various sets of orchids from around the world, themes set by country taking part. The garden is very well taken care of, nice for walking around... More

Visited the Orchid Garden during a recent visit to Kuching. There was an Exhibition happening and there were many fabulous displays featuring all kinds of orchids. The garden itself is well laid out with many varieties and lots of colour and is definitely photographers delight. We accessed the garden via Sampan from the Kuching waterfront which added to our experience.... More

It was a seriously fun experience going on an outing here for graduation from elementary school. The flowers were at an abundance and of different types, colours and looks. It was a pleasure to see the flowers. We had an activity where we were to record a number of flower names so it made the experience much more exciting as... More
