Very interesting - still in a development stage. Worth a taxi fare to see it, Walk down near parliament to the river and catch a sampan back to the esplanade. 40 Malaysian cents per person.

The gardens are very nice and clean, well tended and the orchids are many and varied. its right on the road to the parliament building so plenty of opportunity for photos, its free to go and there is a lovely little cafe there.

My friends and I went for a photo shoot. I did not expect much before but was surprised to see different kinds of Orchids available and we managed to capture a few nice shots!

I went in March and was truly amazed at how much was in flower. I'd been the year before and wasn't that impressed. This time however I stopped counting after about 40 different species in flower, I went there to take macro shots of the flowers and after about 4 hrs ran out if time and energy. I love orchids...

In a lot of travel guides, the orchid garden is 'wrongly positioned' as next to Fort margherita. However, the current location of the orchid garden is next to the Astana.So, take a river crossing to Astana, and then it is only a couple of minutes walk.

Maybe it was the time of year we went but hardly anything was in bloom. To be honest we just got to see dozens upon dozens of stalks. I'm sure this place looks amazing when in the right season. The place is free to enter. You just pay 50sen for the water taxi there.

What a surprise this was, truly magnificent and costs nothing. Take a little boat across the river by the Parliament buildings and walk up the road, you will see it on the right.

Just a stone throw away from the parliament building is this gorgeous garden full of a myriad species of orchids.
Not that much shade, so ensure you've got a hat on and take some sun block if visiting during lunchtime.
If you're in the mood for a quiet stroll, cross the river near the Hilton and take the long way...
