Recently, my wife & myself had booked a 2 night, 3 day trip from Kuching to the Batang Ai Resort, managed by Hilton. We were picked up from our hotel in Kuching by our driver/guide, Lim, who proved to be wonderful. He was our driver for the duration & accompanied us on our morning trip to a longhouse from the... Upon arriving at the Batang Ai Dam, we chartered 2 long boats which carrying maximum load of 5 person and we headed into the upstream remote area for 3.5 hrs of boat ride. Along the journey, if you are a nature lover, you just found your first love. It's beautiful and unspoilt. The rapids can be dangerous with a lot... More

Hi, I wanted to share my experience with you because since 1,5 year I am living in Kuching and have been in Nanga Sumpa several times. I want to let you know that Borneo Adventure is not the only option to stay in a long house in that area. There is a local man called Mr. Djugat (the chief of... More

I been to this area for the past 10 years and only once did spot an orang utan. Hiking were tough and humidity were high. Leeches are common especially after rain. Leech socks doesn't help much. I preferred tiger balm, rub on your skin before start trekking.

Just wanted to say a BIG thanks for our trip with Borneo Adventures to Batang Ai and Nunga Sumpa (we did the 3 day/ 2 night tour) early in October 2013. Being Australian city dwellers and full-time office workers we were really hoping this trip would take us out of our comfort zone, challenge us physically and culturally, and give... More

Not something to miss and bring your camera. Be sure to pay for a guide - they know where the animals live and hide. Without them you you will just be a westerner stumbling around and missing what is before you own eyes. Really very good indeed. If I had known - guidebooks do not do it justice. I would... More

Nanga Sumpa is a place which is reached from Kuching via a 5 hour drive plus a 1,5 hour ride in a long boat. On arrival we where installed into a lodge close to a traditional long house community in the rain forest. The lodge was comfortable with large communal areas and fantastic rainforest surroundings. You can walk in the... More
