I have been to Danum Valley twice. The place is incredible, but you see as much wildlife as you are willing to work for it. You can't expect the animals to come to you. You need to hike and be aware of your surroundings, also when hiking not to make too much noise so you don't scare the wildlife. The... More

We stayed at BRL and Danum Valley for 3 nights in july 2008. Booked our trip through Borneo Eco Tours, was picked up at Lahad Datu airport and transported by 4WD through the jungle. It was a very bumpy ride, carsickness pills needed;) The resort is situated in virgin rainforest, and the atmosphere is amazing. We stayed in a deluxe... More

My problem is that the only real activities are hiking. While I don't mind a lovely hike the humidity was unbearable (and I live in Miami!)... More

We stayed at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge for a couple of nights and found it to be a very enjoyable experience. The Lodge is in the middle of the Danum Valley conservation area, and occupies a very pretty location in a bend in the river and next to a heavilly wooded hill. Accommodation is in a number of chalets attached... More

Danum valley situated in the south of Sabah Malaysia is a conservation area funded by the Sabah foundation. We stayed for 2 nights at the Borneo Rainforest lodge. The location is fantastic, surrounded by virgin rainforest, by a gentle flowing river. The cabins are large, and well equiped with a nice verandah, try to request a cabin facing the river.... More
