It was one of the best experience of my trip in Malaysia. Beautiful jungle and fantastic lodge. It's a must visit place if you travel in Borneo

This place is really about experiencing the rainforrest at first hand and Danum Valley fully acccomplished that. Even David Attenborough was there 14 days prior to our visit and once you get there you kind of get it, since few other places on Borneo are like this. We stayed for 2 nights going on several treks, both day and night,... More

The Danum Valley jungle is densely packed with trees, ferns, vine plants, mushrooms and other flora, and we saw a wide variety of animals in the area around the BRF. With the critical help of the guides at the rainforest lodge we saw a tremendous amount: 5 orangutans (1 adult male, 2 moms/babies one of which we saw on three... More

I am writing this having just traveled with my wife to Danum Valley Field Center (DVFC). There was a great deal of misinformation about arranging this visit. As Lonely Planet and other TripAdvisor entries relate, there are indeed only 2 options for visiting the Valley - either Borneo Rainforest Lodge, which is a luxury experience in the rainforest, or the... Particularly for people who've never experienced a rain forest, this is a great place to get much more than an introduction. We took the 3 days/2 nights package at the Borneo Resort Lodge (BRL) and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Limited and significantly lower cost accommodations are also available at the field research centre nearby (check other reviews for this).... More

The Jewel in the Jungle. Yes it's a long drive in, it's not uncomfortable and it is so worth it from the minute you get out of the car. This was three days (I so wish it was longer) of pure excellence. We stayed here 'mid honeymoon' and it was the highlight. The Lodge, our guide Paul, the staff, the... More

We stayed in DFVC. Many people make a point that DVFC is a research centre and not a hotel, but to be honest, it's got all the facilities of a hotel, maybe minus room service. So unless you tend to stay in Ritz rather than Ibis when you go to London or Paris, you'll be better off in DVFC than... More

For the ultimate rain forest experience I cannot recommend Danum Valley too highly. With much of the world’s rain forests disappearing at a fast rate to visit the Borneo rain forest at Danum Valley is a real treat. Danum Valley is not a zoo, so what you see during your visit is very much a matter of luck and patience.... More

Located in the center-south part of Sabah Region, at 82km distance away from Lahad Datu town, Danun Valley Conservation Area is an ancient lowland rainforest which covers an area of 438 sq. km. A totally breathtaking experience with plants animals and relaxation. I overheard some people that they didn't see much, which may be true is you judge it on just animals, but there is so much more, plants, colours, smells, noises and more. I loved it and would go again, especially for the wonderful river front chalets which made me feel 10... More
