Being a photographer and having traveled very extensively I had great hopes which were dashed. The layout of minaret, mosque, waterfront, 'car parking' and trees made for a photo nightmare. Armed with 8.5mm, 10-16, 35 and 16-300mm I was flummoxed. Even inside we could not see the interior dome and surround completely. Woman appear to be required to wear a... More

We visited of an evening as Ramadan festivities were ongoing so only saw outside. The folk around were really friendly and the walk at sunset is sensational and a photographers dream. Little tip, getting a taxi was hard but speaking to the local traffic enforcement officers on mopeds about Manchester City resulted in their ringing one for us! If staying... More

We have visited this mosque before and found an open door policy for tourists, with very helpful guides who are happy to answer questions about the building and the religion. We were lucky enough to visit during Ramadam and were invited to participate in Buka Puasa - breaking the fast. The building is traditional in design and with stunning views... More

The Putra Mosque, or Masjid Putra in Malay language, is the principal mosque of Putrajaya, Malaysia. Construction of the mosque began in 1997 and was completed two years later. It is located next to Perdana Putra which houses the Malaysian Prime Minister's office and man-made Putrajaya Lake. In front of the mosque is a large square with flagpoles flying Malaysian... More

The mosque is really huge for pray. The lakeside is beautiful. There are several restaurants and cafes below the mosque which located at the lakeside. The mosque is highly maintained.

Gorgeous mosque in a gorgeous location. They provide you with silly pink robes to ensure modesty. The detail in the architecture is incredible. Must see!

I think the only place in Putrajaya that it worth going is this big, wonderful, pink Mosque. Don't forget that you can't go in there with short trousers (for men) and with your hairs open (for women). It is really beautiful.
