That is what kept me wondering. Somewhere I read that it is the only Burmese Buddist temple outside Myanmar. That is in itself interesting. Like the other Buddhist temples, this also has amazing statues of many kinds.

Nice, serene and holy place to visit. The building structure is beautiful, and it is indeed very peaceful inside the temple. Nobody harassed us when we were inside the temple (i.e. selling stuff and forcing us to buy, etc.).

Dharmikarama Burmese Temple is the oldest Burmese Temple in Malaysia, opposite the Thai temple, Wat Chayamangkalaram (Reclining Buddha). Dharmikarama Burmese Temple makes an excellent location for photographers, because there is so much beauty and colours all around. The main prayer hall is decorated with well crafted wood carvings with a gigantic statue of Buddha. The temple is at its busiest... More

Enjoy the architecture, paintings and carvings. A very beautiful temple which is worth a visit. Walk around it and appreciate the architecture. Then head to the other temple opposite it. Enjoy the serene surroundings.

In the middle of the hustle and bustle of Pinang, you have two beautiful temples, Dharmikarama and the Wat Chaiya temples, opposite to each other. The Dharmikarama Temple is stunning with its beautiful filigree work on wood .The temple is maintained very well. The richness in architecture is awesome.Do not miss this place if you visit Pinang.

We attended the Dharmikarama temple after visiting the colourful Thai temple across the road and we were not dissappointed with the massive standing Budda and intricately carved wooden ceilings of this temple. The grounds of the temple are also excellent to explore and my young children particularly liked the 2 chimera. We found this a most facinating and spiritual place... More

Directly opposite the reclining buddha. Half an hour should be sufficient to view the incredible workmanship.
