Went here and payed the very high ticket price, and waited around for the tour to start...only to be disappointed. the house looks amazing from the outside, but there is not much left to see on the inside. Compared to the Baba Nyonya house in Malacca (where entrance prices were A LOT cheaper) this house has nothing to offer. Tours... More

Exterior of the building looks beautiful. But alas we did not manage to have a look inside because entry is by tour and at set times only, which we did not manage to include in our short itinerary. Poor rating is therefore in relation to accessibility and indeed management/owner's intention for this attraction. It is not clear if this restoration... More

Haven't heard of Cheong Fatt Tze before this. Perhaps I am not a historical buff.. Nice visit even for locals. Learned lots about this man and his large mansion and many wives :) This is not the largest of his mansion; the largest one being in China. You will learn lots from the 45 min English tours that happens thrice... More

It's an inspiring house but the guided tour has deteriorated awfully. Giant posters installed upstairs spoilt the beauty of the house but guide used that to explain. 'New' old furniture were brought in but what is relation to the Mansion? The master bedroom area and the ceramic works at the balcony that made the house interesting were not accessible to... More

An beautiful and historic building, another in an amazing array of architecture in this area of Penang. The design and workmanship of the craftsman of over 100 years ago puts todays efforts to shame. The tour provides a very good historical perspective and also an understanding of the design principles, the building's Feng Shui etc. Only downside is the limited... More

I was really looking forward to visiting this house, it was a disappointment. The house is beautiful , however, you are not able to see a lot. A guide takes a group around only at either 11am,2:30pm or 3:30pm with a tour guide. That bit is fine as he tells you a bit about the history but then you only... More

We visited this mansion house straight after visiting the Pinang Peranakan Mansion and there is no comparison. The building is grand but because many of the rooms are now part of the hotel and restaurant, it feels as though you only see a small section of what was a large Mansion, as the rest of the building is not viewable... The Blue Mansion is very interesting in that it is lauded as one of the 10 houses with the best Feng Shui worldwide (according to the tour guide). The guided tour provides interesting information on Feng Shui and the life of the former owner, Cheong Fatt Tze (what they do not mention is that he made his fortune in the... More

Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion is listed in the 10 top mansion in the world. Before visiting this breathtaking mansion, remember to check their website for their daily tour. The tour lasts about 1 hour ++. The guide for the tour was very informative. She was funny and cheeky with the group and try to involve us as much as possible... More
