If you are a foreigner, it may cost you RM 10-15 to go up to the top of the hill by cable car. It may sound a bit expensive however it worth a go to there. Now they are trying to make the hill more interesting by open museum and restaurant. Owl museum is a must to go in if... More

It only takes 10 minutes to reach the top in the fast funicular. Once up there, if you want to see the homes of the people who live there, take a 2km ride in a buggy (at 30MYR very good value). The driver points out all sorts of interesting homes and interesting details. Cool breezes make for a nice place... More

A much easier experience than 23 years ago. Liked the view even in the mist and the Hindu temple at the top. Lots of places to eat. More

In a hot and humid island like Penang, this hill is an escape. Loved the funicular ride up... and quite cheap. They have a cafe on top too...nice views. More

The Funicular Railway to the top. Great fun! We loved our long walk through the forest-an easy walk along a quiet road, and the visit to the Pitcher Plant Garden along the way. The storm broke while we ate in the food court. Terrific tropical downpour ! More

We took the train up Penang Hill. The train is awesome because you watch your climb up the mountain through its windows. You can view the whole city from the top. More

Go by local bus and it will cost you a few ringits - it takes about 40 mins. The main temple is about a further 20 min walk from the bus stop and there are a number of steps to walk up. Good view of Georgetown on a clear day. More
