I have to be honest. I did not like this temple. If you are interested in alot of junk, I really mean ALOT, then this is the temple for you. I did like the small garden with the view over Penang, but even here they feel that they have to "fake it to make it". Artificial bird and water sounds... More

It's big. Really big. It's beautiful. Did I mention big? It's breathtaking. I've been there numerous times in the last 30 years, and it always satisfies me.

The only thing attracted me was the very big statue of Guanyin and the little 'tree' that allows visitors to hang up their paid ribbon tags with wishes on.

Very well kept historical place! The children were very impressed with the huge Buddhas. It was very warm and humid but overall an enjoyable trip. Very rare to see old temples of this size anywhere else in Malaysia.

Quite a huge temple to explore and it was quite well maintained. There is also a pagoda but was too tired to walk all the way up. Lovely temple that is worth a visit

This is not just regular Buddhist Temple.Beautifully lit like a fairyland at night and visible from afar, this temple draws visitors by the bus loads everyday of the year. It started as a small hillside temple but has been modified and extended several times and is now a top tourist attraction in Penang. Some people come here to pray and... More

A beautiful Buddhist temple in a rural setting. It's an easy & cheap ( around RM2 for a single ticket) bus ride towards Air Itam. We asked the bus driver to tell us where to get off but the temple can be seen from a distance. You walk up to the temple through a tunnel of shopping stalls. Further up... More

This is a truly beautiful temple and well worth seeing. No views to be had the day we were there but I imagine they would be spectacular. There are so many different areas of the temple that one could be occupied for hours. The elevator to the statue at the top is a bit mind boggling, but it got us... More
