This temple is really a must see in Georgetown. The architecture is stunning and its location in a hidden courtyard makes it even more amazing.

Hidden down a little laneway, great old building. Not huge inside but worth the visit to take a peek into Penang's history.

You won't complete the itinerary without seeing this in Penang. The intensity of architectural work delivered is just amazing. The charge is also reasonable compared to other attractions.

Khoo Kongsi is breathtakingly beautiful and I think it's easily the best sight in Georgetown. The restoration work is impressive and really gives you an insight to Chinese community life. If you can find a guide I would recommend it too, as you learn so much more. If you like temples, fine architecture or just appreciate fine examples of craftsmanship,... More

It was very quiet when I went (Monday afternoon). The details of the carvings and decor is worth taking the time to inspect. I visited Khoo Kongsi at the end of a 4 week trip so I think I would have been more impressed if I hadn't already been to numerous palaces, temples, etc.

I think, this is the top sight of Georgetown. It's a simply wonderful picture, displaying the wealth and pride of the Chinese community in Penang. Not to be missed.

An architectural gem devoted to the history of the Khoo Clan. Wonderful chinese decorations inside and out.

This temple costs rm 10 to enter but you really must see it when you are in Penang. You can explore the temple as well as go underneath to a museum about the Khoo Clan. Very interesting.

You can learn about the early migrants of the Khoo clan from China. Its interesting to look at its unique detailed architecture. The neighbourhood around the area is worth exploring in order to learn about Penang's historic past.
