Worth a visit. Get there on the number 10 bus from Komtar or Weld Quay (goes round and round the houses). Lots of lovely trees and orchids. Take a circular ride round on the electric buggy for 10 MYR if you don’t want to have a long walk, then look at the formal gardens.

We planned to take a trip to Penang Hill but the trains were under maintenance till 20 Jan so we decided to visit the Gardens instead. Entering the garden, we were greeted by lovely flowers blooming everywhere. Some flowers I've never seen so it was good to learn the different flowers and the trees it grew from. This is perfect... A well manicured beautiful park. Any one can go, even wheel chairs are welcome. When you get the hang of it you can start doing real hikes. In every corner of the park there are entries to steep hill climbs. Most known is the Moon gate hike. You can hike up to no 5. That is a 30-60 min hike... More

If you're into plants and nature and a bit of a walk into the jungle, this place may be worth a visit. Well organized plants and signages within the park to help enrich your knowledge on plants. But that's all... Not very recreational, one dimensional.

Beautiful and peaceful walk away from the city. Surprisingly so close to the city. Best visit in early morning according to the guidebook. Love the good morning run and fresh air

A place for a picnic or a stroll in the day. There is a small stream that runs through the gardens which is shallow enough for kids to catch guppies. If you walk up the stream there is a miniature waterfall that has just enough water to play in and build rock dams.

Limited hours meant that we weren't able to stroll through most of the gardens. The area is well laid out with nice paths, but all of the plants are in cages locked tight depending on the day and time you go. We were able to go into the one that housed the ferns and most of them were yellow and... More

We got there by bus #10. The park walkways are in the sun, so it is wise to pay for a tram ride. Not very exciting but still worth a look see.

It's a very nice place to hangout if you like nature. You may enjoy the scenery, monkey, tree, flowers. But beware of monkey. They are aggresive when they see you carry some drink, food. They will attack you.
