What a beautiful place!! Clean, green, fresh air, what more can you ask for. Beware of monkeys!! The are everywhere, and they will follow you if you have food. Can't wait to go back!!

We ended up here by mistake trying to take shelter form a downpour whilst on mopeds! It turned out to be rather serendipitous. Awesome wildlife - especially the monkeys. Saw a lot of giant strange creepy crawlies. Had a walk in the river and just a nice place to roam around in general. Worth a visit if you are passing... More

One of the most well maintain park in the region which used to be my parents courting arena and also me and my dearest wife. At the entrance, the environment is somewhat nostalgia with the aroma from the cannonball tree. Arriving in the early morning is highly recommended as the air is as crispy as it gets. We love the... When we were in Penang recently (June 2013) we made a visit to the botanical Gardens and found a relaxing atmosphere and a variety of tropical plants growing that along with the monkeys and the waterfall made the visit a pleasant experience. Be fairly careful when dealing with the monkeys as they can snatch from you and if the opportunity... More

Compared to Singapore this botanical gardens is tame but it is a very pleasant place to be with plenty of shade on a hot day. A lovely park with a few set piece gardens and pleasant waterfall running through. Needs a little TLC but worth a stop.

The garden is filled with monkeys! We couldn't even eat in peace without the monkeys surrounding us. It is surrounded by hills and forests all around, making the views really scenic. Pity that all the exhibitions and plants houses were locked up. The lily pond we visited was filled with algae instead of lilies and the gardeners were cleaning it... More

Definitely worth a visit when in Georgetown. Just take the #10 bus from KOMTAR (maybe from the Jetty too, not sure), and it'll drop you off at the gardens at the end of the line. The gardens won't take too much time to visit, but you'll see lots of different flora (and even some fauna: monkeys and monitor lizards) in... More
