very old mall and not many people go there. However, there are some cheap stuff there. If you're looking for the latest shoes or clothes, Komtar will definitely not the place to go.

It was a walking distance from our hotel where we were staying. We were just exploring and chance upon Komtar. There's practically nothing to do there. Visited December 2009.

Used to be No.1 in Penang but has fallen far below those times! First couple of floors good for "cheap, cheaper, and cheapest" goods, but haggling is a must. Fairly good electronics selection however with up-market and known brands available from fairly reputable shops (manufacture authorized) in a separate section. For a completely surreal and unsettling experience, venture up to... More

Not much to see or do. Just an average mall. Good for a walk around I suppose, there are a few options for grabbing a bite to eat and a cinema as we'll.

Its the tallest building in Jalan Ria, opposite Prangin Mall in George town. Inside was many stores and food area. On ground floor is a bus terminal for Rapid Penang. The fare around MYR 1,4-MYR 2 for adults. No bus fee for my 2 kids (3 and 6 years old). There are signs for which bus you may take or... More

This used to be Georgetown's, and even Malaysia's, tallest building. The rest of Malaysia caught up, and this mega mall has fallen behind. Nevertheless it is a great place for some daily Asian knickknacks. Go to the half abandoned top floor and check out the really weird shops. Combine a visit with a small, but perfect hawkercentre across the street,... More

This mall and area is a major intersection and transportation hub in the area. if you use the bus, you will likely pass through here or use it as a stop while in George Town. There is not much to say about the facilities or mall. I didn't spend much time in there. Just grabbing buses to everywhere else.

This is the tallest building in Penang. There's a lot of store and outlet inside. They also have supermarket and food court. On ground floor there's bus station that almost all the busses in Penang stop here. Free CAT bus that around the Georgetown also start from here.

This used to be the best place to do shopping, however it got worn out with the new malls mushroomed in Penang. Some old loyal retail outlets can still be seen operating in this building. Food court is at the top floor. Has a main anchor tenant which runs a mall. Other than that, you would normally see office workers... More
