It is the oldest part of the town, busy, narrow streets and lots of little shops for food, grocery, textiles, jewellery(gold) and main Indian temple of Mother Goddess is on this street. The is also a small mall there. If you looking for anything Indian- like statues, food, ornaments, clothings(sarees) - you will find it here ..

Qween street during this fasting month of July is an amalgam of smell and sight of wonderful Indian Muslim food or as we Malaysians call it Mamak Food. Take a walk along Qween street after 5 pm and you will find stalls selling great varieties of Indian Muslim curry which makes Penang unique.

Queen Street is located in the Little India area of George Town and is an interesting place to visit when visiting the World Heritage area of the city. It seems this street was originally planned by Sir Francis Light when he took possession of Penang. He named it after Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III. Today, the street forms... More

Queen Street, the street was located within the area known as Little India. This is the place where you can find many Indian restaurants and shops. There was a Hindu temple which is a starting point for the Thaipusam procession during the festival. You will find beautiful colorful cultural exposure of Indian here , without going to India. Nearby is... More

All of the old George Town area is excellent value for a walk around. The architecture and the street art is absolutely amazing. I spent over two, half days in the area and probably only saw half of it! A camera is a must and with the weather and lighting the first few hours of daylight each day is perfect.

I spent hours everyday walking the streets of the old quarter in historic Georgetown. Queen St was one of my favourites . The colour , vibrant flowers, loud music and the Indian spices . I wish I could have taken them all home. The prices were cheaper here too.

Queen St was named after Queen Charlotte (1761-1818), the wife of King George III. Today this street is where you will find most of the Indian eateries and food stuff. All long this stretch of road there will be small stalls all lined up. It is the Little India of Penang. basiclly all indian stuff can be bought here. at... More

This is essentially the Indian Quarter of Penang. Queen Street was named after Queen Charlotte who was the wife of George the Third of Great Britain. Along this street you will find street stalls as well as restaurants, all offering Indian fare. This was the favourite destination for our guide, who was Indian. He took us to his "cousin's" restaurant... More
