We were so excited to meet the legendary Penang chef Pearly. We were picked up by her husband Chander, and met up with Pearly in the market. We had a nice sampling of many Penang market foods, and went back to her house for the cooking class. We made 2 dishes- Penang satays and pie tee. Pearly offered many useful... More

Pearlys cooking class is number 1 on trip advisor for a reason. We booked the class about a month out and she was very helpful assisting us with finding a time to suit due to our busy schedule. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the markets where Pearly educated us on all things cooking and health.... More

Our family visited Pearly TWO timnes during our visit in Penang. One great Saturday dinner/evening when Pearly made it all. Brilliant dishes !...completely different from what we'd experienced so far in Malaysia... And on Monday morning we're back in the cooking class. Our family, me and my wife + 4 teenagers, all from Sweden, longing for good food... VERY enjoyable... More

Penang Homecooking school provides a great day of cooking - we learned many tasty dishes and found out about new ingredients - but it was also just really fun. Pearly and her husband, Chandra, are great hosts. We spent the first part of the day walking around the markets and we learned loads about the different vegies and meats available.... More

Pearly's cooking class was definetly the best i've seen so far. From a bit of background including a guided tour through the market, the food you are eating up to useful advice on how to get the most out of the ingredients. The tour included trying different food & spices, giving a touch&taste of what you cook with. Pearly does... More

As Trip Advisor aficionados we decided on our recent trip to Malaysia to attend Pearly Kees Homecooking School, we were not disappointed, in fact thrilled with the whole package. From booking to collection by Pearly,s husband Chandra from our Hotel at a very reasonable time of day, 845 am, where we proceeded to the Raste Market to meet up with... More

My class began with Pearly's husband, Chandra, picking me up from my hotel and giving me a tour and history lesson as we drove into Georgetown. I met Pearly and she gave me a tour of the Pulau Tikus wet market by her home. This alone is worth the class. Pearly showed me local ingredients, what they are used for,... More

We only spent two days in Penang so took a bit of a risk booking up a whole morning for this, but it was totally worth it. Pearly's tour of the food market was really enjoyable - we tried countless number of fruits/snacks etc and Pearly seems well known and loved by all of the stall owners. The class was... More
