We went here because Lonely Planet and our hotel used them. this place was pretty pricy and the owner was nice but very business-oriented. our class was small but interrupted by a visiting cook from Sri Lanka. She was more focused on that and then had a photo shoot to go to afterwards for a book she's writing so clearly... More

Dear Sf903, thanks so much for taking the time to write this review. I appreciate it very much. I am so sorry that I was not aware of the way that you were feeling at that time. If you had told me on the day, I would have found some ways to make it up to you. Anyway, thanks again... More

we would recommend this cooking school to any one who has an interest in Malay food. The morning was spent firstly eating breakfast, and then shopping in the market before the actual cooking. We were a group of 5 and I got the impression this is a normal size. It was fun and friendly and certainly added to our understanding... More

My cooking class with Nazlina was just perfect from the breakfast of roti channi and curry to the delicious lunch of beef rendang and tomato rice we cooked. The market tour was very interesting and Nazlina was a font of information. I thoroughly recommend this class to visitors to Penang. More

We had a lot of fun attending this half day session. Starting early and going on a market tour to buy all the ingredients was really interesting. A true local experience, stopping by at stalls and trying different food, fruits, snacks, with the explanations of Nazlina. The cooking class was then a lot of fun, although we're not sure we'll... Had a great time at this cooking class and would definitely go back for seconds next time I am in Penang. Nazlina's easy-going and friendly personality, not to mention the market tour, lessons and recipes, made this class an absolute pleasure. I really enjoyed the communal approach to preparation and even though we did not cook the recipes ourselves, felt... More

Great cooking course in the beautiful Lone Pine hotel garden. The course started with a trip to the market followed by 2 hours of cooking and then lunch. One thing to note is the course is for beginners so if you've had experience of south east Asian cooking courses it's a little too easy. A good suggestion would be to... More

Walking through the market was a great experience, our cooking chef knows all about the different fruits, vegetables, ... The preparation of the dishes were very amusing too, all the students chopping, grinding, cutting, ... all together! I just put "very good" rating and not "excellent" because to me, the food tasted just okay. Some chicken pieces were partially still... More

A great way to look at the everyday experience of going to the markets and buying cooking essentials. Having breakfast and then walking through the markets to purchase goods for the cooking class, was a great way to start the cooking class. I would suggest taking this class early in your visit to Penang if possible. It gives a real... More

Nazlina's market tour and cooking class were informative and fun. The lamb korma I learnt to make is now a family favorite at our place- with friends and relatives asking me to cook it when they visit! I loved this cooking class! Thanks Nazlina! More
