Gratifying to see the collection of past local artifacts coupled with items such as Stourbridge epergnes from the 1800's, and mixed with opium taking devices. We were delighted to see this family home, a haven in the midst of a busy area of Penang. There is a temple and a small cafe behind the house. We were not tempted by... More

I went with a group of friends to this magnificent museum a couple of Saturday ago. But one unfortunate incident leave a bad taste to our visit. My friend accidently tripped over, fell and bruise her leg by the unstable stool located at the centre courtyard in the main building. The stool is made of carved tree root and with... More

Really loved our visit. We were free to take photos and wandered at will. The house is filled with gorgeous things to enjoy. Still seemed like a family home. More

We were allowed to wander free and take photos. The guide was very professional and knew a lot about the building and its interior. Definately get a guide to talk you through the beautiful house and its history. More

The 2 storey mansion has been well restored and has beautiful antiques. Look closely at the carvings in the walls to the courtyard as well as the door handles, light fixtures and floor tiles. Some lovely crockery, shoe collection and wedding dresses are also on display. And there are lots of fans/portable air conditioners so you can stay cool! More

An easy way to pass an hour or two. The house is filled with beautiful furnishings, clothes and shoes. We went without the guide, but I think the visit would be more meaningful with one. Definitely more interesting that the Cheong Fatt Sze Mansion. No anti camera guard following you here. More
