Went there on a self drive with family via the Jelawang road from Gua Musang. The mountainscape is unique from afar with Gunong Ayam looking like a single big cockscomb and Gunong Stong impressive with its waterfall cascading down the granite rock face. Friday is a weekend public holiday in Kelantan so the local tourist crowd was more and many... More

The title is ''Was amazing'' because it probably was amazing, 20 years ago when the accommodation was new (now it looks totally unused and rundown) and the park was not full of rubbish. The waterfall itself is OK a bit hard to see from the park you probably get a better view of it driving into the park. It would... More

I just came back from a 3D2N camping + hiking trip, staying at Baha Camp, and hike to G.Baha, G. Ayam and G. Stong. Fit hikers can finish within 8 hours and 12 hours for normal hiker. We were looking for a day's trek in the jungle, off the beaten path (eg. Taman Negara!) and decided for Gunung Stong, which is reached from the village of Dabong. We drove to Dabong from KL in a day via Kuala Lipis - a full day's drive, but worth it, especially the last section of the road, from Gua Musang... More

It's not the destination but abt the journey. Take the overnight train. A little rough but memorable. Visit the caves and camp at Baha's. Definitely back to nature and the best spot on this gunung. The trails along this base are the most interesting and beautiful with a lot of cold refreshing pools to dip in along the way. Going... More

I live in KL, and went to Dabong a few weeks ago with my sister and her husband, who were visiting from France. We’d been recommended Gunung Stong by a local friend, who has family living nearby. To be honest, without that recommendation, we never would’ve gone, as it’s hardly on the tourist trail and the write up in the... More
