An ok way to kill a bit of time if you are getting bored with the beach. Museum is interesting enough but not worth going out of your way for.

You don't wanna stay at hotel nearby there. Can even smell mud or odour from the man made paddy field.

We personal guide to show us around the paddy friend, giving us paddy field hats, and gaving us the opportunuty to take off our shoes and put our feet in a muddy paddy field, to experience what it is like for the thousands of paddy field workers in Malaysia. We saw the rice growing, we replanted paddy, and had interesting... More

Do not miss this (free) excellent visit. Make sure you wait for the guide at the entrance who will show you around and tell you about plants, flowers, rice culture... We went there with two young children who also enjoyed it very much. It is better to go early morning as it can get quite hot and the visit is... More

We drifted into the museum and wandered round before we were asked by one of the staff if we wanted a guide. Thankfully we accepted the offer and were shown how rice grows and taken round the growing areas. We were then taken round the 'herb' garden and were shown loads of different herbs and plants growing. It turned out... More

It would be very easy to walk into the rice museum and get the feeling that it is run down & not very interesting until you take advantage of the guided tour,(no charge ). We had the most wonderful gentle person I have ever had the pleasure to meet bring us on an hours tour of the Paddi fields &... More

Easy to miss as it is poorly signposted, it is across a footbridge directly opposite the Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort. We dragged our kids (6 and 9) there on a rainy morning. The grumbling stopped about 5 mins after we arrived and our 9 year old even said it was great. Startlingly given what is there, it is free. We... More

We stayed at the Casa Del Mar across the st and did not go here originally because it was free. However when we did go, we wandered around a mainly empty place until we bumped into Rodsy (sp?) who showed us everything! It was an amazing hands-on tour -- we broke open coconuts, put herbal plants directly onto our skin... More

After three trips to Langkawi -even staying opposite the Rice Museum at Pelangi Beach - we finally on Christmas Day visited this attraction. We too were lucky enough to have Rosti as our guide. Having expressed an interest in the plants we went on to enjoy smelling and eating a variety of herbs and spices. as well as having a... More

Having been to Langkawi a few times previously we had passed this place on numerous occasions without realising what it actually was, at night it is beautifully lit. This time however we decided to have a look around, & we are so glad that we did. As we walked through the main entrance from the car park & having a... More
