We took a taxi from the Langkawi Cable car to the Underwater World which is located at busy street of Pantai Cenang for about 20 minutes. We arrived at about 12:15 and missed the animal feeding session (10:30 - 11:45) The highlight of the aquarium is the penguin exhibits which we enjoyed very much. We noticed that there are pairs... At first I thought this is not a very good place to go. However I was really amazed the moment I entered the place. It was really, really fantastic. There are a few really exotic animals being displayed. A worthy destination to visit. :)

We stumbled on this while taking a walk up the main road, for the amount of people that arrive and for what we saw didn't seem to add up.......the building is in need of repair in certain areas, staff are unhappy and there no toilet paper in the toilets. We did not see a single staff member while strolling around.

We visited this place as part of our honeymoon trip to Langkawi, Malaysia. Along with the other places we enjoyed, this was one of them. I would call this place as a must visit when you decide on a trip to Langkawi. The place was well maintained and kept clean. We loved watching penguins and other aquatic animals moving around... We weren't expecting much as most of the zoos here in Malaysia are unkept and animals look deprived of food, attention and care. Underwater World definitely exceeded our expectations. The aquariums were very clean and the aquatic animals in there were plump and didn't look stressed. There were also uncaged birds which looked unfazed by our presence. The seals and... More

I was disappointed with the maintenance of the marine exhibits being a hobbyist myself, and the penguins didn't seem like they were loving life. Overall it was a nice visit and we enjoyed the individual fish tanks. The planted tanks were especially nice here.
