This mosque has complex blend of local architecture from Sultan Albert Bakar era with some influence of Ottoman and Mughal empire design. The location of it on top of the hill facing the Johor Straits (Selat Tebrau) making it as one of the benchmark of Johor Bahru. Sadly, it wont be able for visit for some period as the mosque... I was surprised at the building expecting a large a typical mosque structure. This was far from it looking more like a colonial building. This does not distract from the local religious significance and from the outside it was a splendid mosque perched high on a hill looking towards Singapore. The only disappointment was not being able to go inside.... More

After reading reviews & looking at things to do while staying in Jahor Bahru we decided to walk to this mosque. It was only a 3km walk from the hotel so we headed out early to beat the heat. The walk took longer but only because we took detours along the way. It is beautiful & overlooks Singapore, we couldnt... More

This is a signature of old heritage. I love the structure of the mosque. There are twin towers if you see from the sea. I came here on Friday, some street vendor preparing their own goods. It's good if you want to experience something here.

We came on a day tour from Singapore. This is beautiful in the outside. We were not allowed to go in. We came on Saturday morning. No crowds at this time. Wish we could have seen the inside.

Wuduk place was dark with malfunction lighting. Parking was OK. Access to women's wuduk area is common with men.

I came here with fairly low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. This mosque is a very attractive structure in a peaceful location looking out towards Singapore. Not too many people about on a weekday.
