this seems to be the central old mosque (masjid) in downtown Johor Bahru. The architecture is different than other mosques I've seen in other parts of the world. It was worth a stop for a look

The Official State Mosque which dates back to the 1800s, admire the architecture and grandiose main hall. As it is a place of Worship, please observe the rules about footwear and also the need to be appropriately dressed.

Beautiful Mosque with great architecture. See the intricate design of the building. Don't miss to view the beautiful copper "Mimbar" inside the Mosque. A must place to visit.

They have a musical museum and definitely a must go place at night as there are not much activities for travellers at night time. Kids are very enjoy too. just mind the parking issue.

Nice well designed mosque built by the King of Johor. I only visited the place to offer Friday prayers so didnt really look at it from a tourist point of view.

We stopped for about five minutes, it is an interesting looking building and makes for some good pictures but we felt as if we should not have been walking around there.

Masjid Sultan Abu Bakar, the state mosque of Johor. The mosque was built in between 1892 and 1900 under the direction of Sultan Abu Bakar, Johor’s Sultan during those years. It was inspired by English Victorian architecture with more of the Moorish architecture elements. It has very colorful glass mosaics inside. Plus it sits on top of a prominent hill... More

One great mosque in Victorian architecture, not the common arabic. Relaxing view of sea & Singapore. Cannot enter the mosque once you're non-Muslim. Nice to take photos at the flag pole area so you can take the full picture of the mosque & you can breath & relax of fresh air overseeing the sea.
