This park used to be a small mosquito infested lake with some chalets for shady rendevous by the side of the road in the 80's. Now, it is a beautiful landscaped park with proper walkways and gazebos to sit down for refreshment. There is even a small swimming pool for children. I love going there to have scones and coffee... This is a pretty area of parkland a few kilometres drive away from the city centre in JB. Not too much to see but nice enough.

The park dedicated and based the concept to Malaya's Independance from Japanese, British and Communist era. The 31 acres park is very good for walking and recreation. It is being upgraded. Part of the lake is dried up. The 60 feet fountain also is being restored. It is located across RTM(Radio Television Malaysia).

Nice big green area for walking, relaxing and sporting in- near the colourfully lit clocktower, it is a nice spot to spend some time. Could do with some more trees though.

Jogging, Aerobic, Zumba, free coach at 7am joint the crowd and dance. 1.35km jogging track. With a lot of regular jogger around. Plenty of parking space. Good place for working out on Sunday morning.

We just passed by this spot. Looked great. But no time to explore. Maybe nxt time. Johor is a beatuliful place and it resembles melaka. The city is laid back the malaysian way and there are lesser jams which you will appreciate if you are from KL...

While this might be the latest park in JB and possibly the only other decent park in JB now that the Istana Grounds are closed, it is sadly not in good shape. As a result of bad planning and lack of maintenance the place is also unsafe for children in particular. Last evening was our first trip there and my... More
