Ankarana National Park is a wonderful place to go. With a guide you will see tons of things: lemurs, chameleons, snakes and views. And those views really are amazing. The batcave we visited was really cool. With the stalagmites and stalactites forming, bats flying (and pooping) everywhere. It's a place everyone should see if the drive by. Quite expensive, but... This reserve offers a variety of activities from a boardwalk over the Tsingy to exploring the bat cave The bats were amazing and well worth the climb to and scrambling through the caves The area is very dry and the heat was quite oppressive so take plenty of water

We visited the reserve as part of a 5 day trip, organised by the best travel agent ever - Oceane Aventures. That's not a free plug by the way, but a great way to visit the park. We started from the southern end of the park - apparently most people seem to start at the north! We started at the... More

I spent three days in Ankarana East and West. Two days would have been sufficient. Both parts of the park are very different and well worth a visit. The caves in the west are amazing, whereas the east has the tsingy. Both sides have lemurs for easy viewing. Also saw mongoose in the east.

As much as me and my partner were disappointed with Amber Mountain, Ankarana made us very happy. Lots of lemur-spotting, chameleon-spotting and obviously an amazing rock formation. We enjoyed also a bridge visit and a walk itself. Just be careful with the tour guide you choose, ours was a bit funny, making sexual jokes all the time (yes) and a... More

We had wanted to go to Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, but as it's so remote, and entrance was questionable at that time of year, we decided to go with the sure thing of Ankarana instead. We had never really seen stingy formations before, so that was super cool! Our guide was really helpful and informative as well.

On our hike through the park, we visited two bat caves, saw numerous species of chameleons, lemurs, birds and insects, walked through baobabs, desert regions, and tropical forests, walked through and on the tsingy (incredible rock formations) and crossed rope bridges over chasms in the tsingy- all in the span of a single day! Our guide was immensely knowledgeable and... More

Amazing landscape on grey tsingy, beautiful plants and trees and a lot of camaleons, lemurs and other typical malgasy endemic animals, even some snakes. It is necessary to have a local guide to enjoy the tour better
