Cable car closed - no advise anywhere regarding this so you only find out when you get there - couldn't find out when will re-open - so if your in Almaty make sure its reopened before you go

Last year before I left for my summer holidays, I told my Kazakh friends that I never visited Kok Tobe before. They were shocked. Next thing I know my friends took me up to the top of Kok Tobe. We then took a bus to the actual park. It was late at night but I was surprised at the many... More

We got to the top of the hill by local bus and shuttle service. Good viewing point but we spent about 2 hours looking for the now retired cable car service, it gave the fingerless security guard a good giggle though.

Amazin, charming view to the city. Must see to everyone who is first time here in Almaty. Don't overpay for taxi, takу normal cabel car - very cheap and very safe.

the place is very touristic. but go there in the evening around 5pm and have a look of the city in daylight and at night. there is cafe at the end of the koktobe park, while sitting in that cafe you will be able to see the mountains from the left and the city from the right.

"Kok Tobe" is translated as "Green Hill". There's a shuttlebus station, where you pay ~3$ for two way ticket. It's better to go there in the evening in summer, when Almaty is full of lights. Pros: - Deeply fresh air at the top of the hill. - Amazing view on mountains. - Almaty is like "on your palm" view. -... More

After a long week full of worries and tense work this place is nice to sit, walk and rest. You can find some restaurants there but I must warn you that it is going to be quite expensive, so be ready to spend at least $30-40 per person just for some snacks or pizza and a couple of drinks. There... More

Nice place to go on a sunny day with kids. Some of the attraction are free some you have to pay for, like climbing wall, shooting gallery, Segway, etc.
