A beautiful place in the mountains. You can take a bus or a taxi (approx. 2000 tenge). When going up by the cable car you can go to Shymbulak (first stop), or get a ticket all the way up (2 more stops). I would recommend the latter only if you are skiing or if it's summertime - it's extremely cold... More

I went up to look at this place and it's really good place to visit. There's a little zoo there and children's rides and a restaurant and also quite a few souvenir shops. Well worth the visit if your in Almaty

We went in March and it was pretty smoggy/hazy. In fact we did not even know how beautiful and close the Tien Shan mountain range was to the city until our second trip a month later. The vendors at the top don't want you to touch anything and it's awkward but the view is pretty nice and it's peaceful.

It's hard going to kok tube hill by walking as I went. Once your up in the hill you will see a beautiful view of Almaty. It's a wonderful and beautiful hill, I highly recommend you seeing it.

When the cable car runs this is a must see site in Almaty. The cable car ride provides excellent view of the city. At the top is an arcade, amusement park area that also has a rail luge that has a track built into the side of the mountain. there are other games and rides at the top as well... More

Green Hill (in English) is a hill on the outskirts of Almaty. Difficult to get to (the cable car was not working at the time of this review), with an amusement park and small zoo at the top. The range of animals is limited, but many rides/activities for children. For an adult the main reason to visit would be the... More
