This site is offering a complete panoramic view of City of Sendai. There is a beautiful Shinto Temple and souvenir shop and nothing more. Relaxing place with a beautiful view.

I rode up here on my motorcycle, which was a nice ride. Curvy roads, close to downtown. The view of the Sendai city center is wonderful and very photogenic. There's a great statue of Date Masamune. After that you're out of luck. On a weekend you might be lucky enough to run into a bunch of dudes pretending to be... More

Well, there is no castle. with that in mind you will not be disappointed by seeing only part of the foundations of the castle and if the ancient walls. the site has nice views on the city and is close to the city museum.

This is a fantastic place to go with people of all ages. We were welcomed in English by many of the staff members. Everyone had a smile on their face, and the property is beautiful. At ¥400 per car, you can't find a better deal on a fun, cultural experience. The shrine is impressive and the statue of Datesan was... More

Enjoy for what it is, castle site with views and a range of facilities, sometimes including historical persons in costume.

Not much to see except the walls and the general area views given the destruction of WWII firebombing.

Only stone walls are remaining at the place the castle used to stand. The place offers a nice view, a shrine and a couple of souvenir shops and cafes, but that´s all. Entrance is free.

A great location to hear about the history of Aoba-jo and an even better site to view the city of Sendai. Walking along the castle walls gives a great impression of the current and historical status of the area. There are some older gentlemen on the site that give lectures in English on the history of the site, the former... More
