Using the Loople Bus was convenience as the bus stops at the entrance. That is another great view spot apart from AER next to Sendai Station. If you have time and understand Japanese I suggest you visiting the Information center which shows the history of the castle using video and the Sendai City Museum downhill, where you can explore more... While the castle itself was destroyed by a rival feudal lord, with only the outline ow where the castle stood, the view over Sendai ia fantastic. Nevertheless we weren't able to get the best view since it was a cloudy day on our visit but it was well worth seeing.

This is a place to visit in Sendai. There is no castle I can see, but the view is great. This worth to visit especially sunshine day.

Walked up in the early morning before the attraction was open, was very quiet and have an awesome view of the sunrise over Sendai.

From here you have a great viewing point of whole Sendai plus an interesting castle & some historic items (armour, weapons, pottery, etc.) to view.

I don't remember seeing any ruins either but it is the site where the castle used to be. There are some shrines and a famous statue up there. It's nice in cherry blossom season and you get a nice view of the city from up there. Definitely worth a visit at least once :)

We went there by the Sendai Loople bus. It's a place you just have to visit if you're in Sendai, not just for the castle but also the view and the local food. Zunda (green bean paste) is a signature dish of Sendai, and you can try zunda mochi, taiyaki, smoothie, ice cream and so on, at the castle shops.... More

The name castleruin is to much honor for this site. Only renewed outer walls and a few stones on site remain. That is not the biggest problem: they build shops and restaurants on top of the mountain that now dominates the site. The view is nice, but not worth the journey to the top.
