I really like this museum (no fee). It has an indoor portion and the actual site where they have recovered archeological evidence of the Jamon people. I went there to just see the site itself but the museum itself is very interesting and does a great job capturing the life of the Jamon people.

Not many foreign visit this site.Staffs can't speak english well but they are so kind and try to help us. We can learn about history of Jomon.

I see nobody has reviewed this in English yet, so maybe not so many foreign visitors go. Well, I took my two daughter (10 and 14, in Japanese school) and an aunt from overseas, who doesn't read or speak Japanese. We all had a good time! Sannai-Maruyama tells you about how the Jomon era people of lived.
