Great place to buy souvenirs

Plenty of souvenirs to choose, and the view is good. Almost every Aomori souvenirs sells here. Very accessible from Aomori station.

This A-shape building is certainly a landmark of Aomori. We came here twice on a back-to-back cruise and we had two very different experience here. Our shuttles stopped right here the first time we came so it was only natural to go inside for a peek. Check out the many apple products here, fascinating! We bought some ice-cold apple juice,... The building is hard to miss. It's a giant A shape around 4 blocks from the train station. This place can be crowded and chaotic when the tour buses are in. You can pay to go up for a view but I didn't do this. I stayed on the ground floor where souvenirs and different types of food were being... More

Great place for souvenir shopping with a lot of the local delicacies. Do try to apple pie and brand apple cake.

This A shaped building along with the adjacent bridge is the most striking feature of this great city. Its a combination of a mall, education/cultural centre, restaurants and a watch tower on top. The ground floor has a plush shopping arcade and also local fruits and delicacies are sold like in a flea market. If you are lucky you might... More

ASPAM is one of those places which has a lot of money spent to built it ….you must ask why? It’s good if you need to buy gift at a higher price than other places in town but to me it was a bit run down. The local people use it a lot from what I could see as we... More

It certainly stands out, once you've been to the floats hall, glanced at the old ferry and you want a better view of the harbour and the bay, walk down along the waterfront and you can't miss it. There is an entrance on the waterfront and then you find yourself amongst the souvenir shops. Lots of local food is on... More

On entering the harbour (we were there recently on a cruise ship), this building dominates the port area. It is a short walk from where the ship's dock & it contains the usual tourist information and souvenir shops. We were really trying to find a Wi-Fi location which we had been told was available in this building but could get... More

The ASPAM building is the large pyramid shaped building located on the bay, about a few minutes walk from the JR Station. It has many, many souvenir shops and also has cultural programs throughout the day.

Believe or not, the reason why that building is a Pyramid, is because the city wanted to create something to represent the A of Aomori. It is located 8 min by walking from Aomori Station. You can buy souvenirs, drink soups and apple juice. But the most interesting attraction is the Musical one. 2 ladies are playing "tsugaru Shamise", a... More
