This A shaped building along with the adjacent bridge is the most striking feature of this great city. Its a combination of a mall, education/cultural centre, restaurants and a watch tower on top. The ground floor has a plush shopping arcade and also local fruits and delicacies are sold like in a flea market. If you are lucky you might... More

ASPAM is one of those places which has a lot of money spent to built it ….you must ask why? It’s good if you need to buy gift at a higher price than other places in town but to me it was a bit run down. The local people use it a lot from what I could see as we... More

It certainly stands out, once you've been to the floats hall, glanced at the old ferry and you want a better view of the harbour and the bay, walk down along the waterfront and you can't miss it. There is an entrance on the waterfront and then you find yourself amongst the souvenir shops. Lots of local food is on... More

On entering the harbour (we were there recently on a cruise ship), this building dominates the port area. It is a short walk from where the ship's dock & it contains the usual tourist information and souvenir shops. We were really trying to find a Wi-Fi location which we had been told was available in this building but could get... More

The ASPAM building is the large pyramid shaped building located on the bay, about a few minutes walk from the JR Station. It has many, many souvenir shops and also has cultural programs throughout the day.

Believe or not, the reason why that building is a Pyramid, is because the city wanted to create something to represent the A of Aomori. It is located 8 min by walking from Aomori Station. You can buy souvenirs, drink soups and apple juice. But the most interesting attraction is the Musical one. 2 ladies are playing "tsugaru Shamise", a... More

Aomori city is not one of the most attractive places in Tohoku area (Hirosaki is a must see place). Once in town, Aspam, the modern A shape-pyramid building dominates the scenery. I visited the place many times and in every season which is something well marked in Tohoku, and if the sky is clear, one can appreciate a superb view.... More

This is a large tourist imformation building in Aomori. It is a triangle in shape and has a viewing platform at the top with great views of Aomori. it also has local music and displays, Well worth a visit to buy unusual presents and foods.

This is an tall A-shaped building a few minutes walk from Aomori Station, facing the seafront. We weren't quite sure what to expect, but a lot of the building is taken up with meeting and seminar rooms, so more for locals than tourists. The main reason for tourists to go would be to purchase souvenirs. If you want one-stop shopping... More

The A shaped building that is just 10 mins walk from the Aomori station. The building itself, except for the light up at night, has nothing much worth a visit. But the view from the top is a must go in the day. The entrance fee is ¥400 with a complimentary drink from the vending machine. The sight of the... More
