this museum is outstanding with lots of culture and art exhibits that change frequently. It is easy to walk through, attractive and has a great gift shop with gifts made by local artists. You only need a few hours to see the museum and it is affordable.

You can view the whole Okinawa, arts, cultures, ...and so on once you visit here. The featured exhibition is usually great too with some exceptions.

In the history museum you can learn all about the history of Okinawa. A lot of the signs have English (though not all). You can also go to the media center (across from the ticket booth in the main entrance) and get a free audio guide (great if you're more of an oral learner). I believe it had English, Korean,... We only went to the Okinawa museum side. It's a cute little museum. We followed the audio tour (no added cost!). The museum and the tour are carefully designed to give a good introduction to Okinawa's history. It's informative but not boring at all. It's a good place to start your Okinawa tour and a good place to get away... More

Also known as the Peace Park, this is a museum set on gorgeous land! The museum told the story of the Battle of Okinawa from the perspective of all countries, soldiers and civilians. The outside memorials are impressive. Schedule time to enjoy both.

The museum consists of different marine species including coral reefs and invertebrates. They are housed in a large tank. Wale shark is the main attraction and it's epic. Since I've also been to similar marine museum situated in Kenting,Taiwan. Comparatively Okinawa's is kind of small and does not have that amount of varieties. Overall it's a good place to explore... Choose carefully your entry ticket to this museum ... the more areas you want to visit the more it costs. Given previous TA reports we chose to pay for the History area which in turn allowed us access to the free permanent exhibitions. (Too numerous to list here) Overall it was disappointing. The route was badly laid out and that... More
