Ishigaki is an island of natural beauty but without many commercial attractions. The ferries go to other islands, the nearest being Takatomi, which has a small traditional community. For information about island hopping, you will probably need to look it up on line, as with most of Japan, very little tourist information is printed in English. There is usually someone... More

Ferry terminal with competing tour and ferry companies selling their deals at a row of ticket shops so you can check the competition. Also a couple of souvenir shops with some drinks and food. A bar overlooks the harbour from one of the stores. It is small enough to get through easily but don't expect a lot of English assistance.... More

many shops provide transport to the port, most of the taxi will show you the way to the port, however no bus, went there, except we walk for 15 minutes to there to reach other place around the islands

No any freight movement, pretty calm, good just to walk around in good weather and watch yachts and the sea.
