Snorkeling was pretty good, coral mostly brown but huge number of fish over a large coral area. Many different types of fish. Not mush shade on the beach. Easy parking with 1 small shop. Showers for Y200.

Simply unbelievable! Corals come right to the edge of water, and the moment you step into it, you are into a full-grown coral forest. Plenty of fish, of all shapes and colours, as well as other marine creatures. The water was very warm in June, so we could snorkel for hours! It is transparent as well, great visibility, no suspended... More

It was a pity the restrooms were under construction while we were there, but other than that, it is a great place for snorkelling. It is very quiet and not populated at all. So much to see in the water and it's so amazing to see that the beach is also very well preserved. The creatures in the water are... More

It was a bit tricky to find the entrance/driveway to this beach but so worth it !! I've never seen such crystal clear water and pristine beaches. Fantastic snorkeling but bring your own gear. I didn't see any rentals. If you go to Ishigaki, Yonehara beach is a MUST !

The beach itself is pretty dirty with lots of garbage, especially plastic bottles. I think this is because there are no garbage cans, so plan to take your garbage home with you. However, the snorkeling is incredible right off the shore. We spent two days snorkeling in December, the air was cool, but the water was still decently warm.

It was pouring down rain so we never went down to the beach, We took a tour via bus for about $40 around the island. This place would be difficult to get to if you didn't have a car, as buses are few and far between.

We stayed at Ishigaki about two weeks and visited this beach almost every day the first thing in the morning. Parking is for free if you arrive early enough. There is also pay parking available but it is not mandatory if there is room available elsewhere. There are many free showers available around the beach. Be sure to check tide... More

we were there during quiet days (no wind or waves) - excellent snorkelling at shallow waters (~<1m); were warned about dangerous drifts and currents but during our stay perfectly safe, no currents and waves

There is a man that collects 500yen for parking and the use of the shower facilities. However he reserves the much better facilities for Japanese for unknown reasons. If anyone knows please enlighten me!
