It was mostly cloudy when we got there but the water is still incredibly blue. The glass boat seems to be a must-do.

The bay is not for swimming, mainly just walking the beach and taking a boat ride. We took the glass bottom boat which was nice. The boat is 1000 yen for adults and 500 for kids. Takes about 30min.

We visited during a typhoon but the water was still all kinds of amazing shades of blue. I wonder how much better it would be when it was sunny.

We visited in October 2013 and the glass bottomed boat rides around the bay are amazing. The guides know the exact spots to stop to view the coral and sealife (turtles, large clams, fish, etc...). After the glass bottom boat we walked around the bay a bit enjoying the beautiful surroundings. This remote part of the island is worth the... More

I cannot say, if Kabira Bay is over advertised or not, but we had a nice couple of hourse there. All locals seemed to go on boats, whereas we just strolles along the beach and selected a private spot alongside some limestone to give some shade. Scenery was beautiful, but surprisingly little to see snokling. When jumping off the bus,... More

Although it is ranked highly in Ishigaki attractions but felt short of expectations. Although the view of the bay with the small islands was ok but not fantastic, we found the beach extremely small. It is not as beautiful or romantic as compared to other beaches. There are just too many glass boats around. Unfortunately you cannot swim there so... More

The best landscape in Ishigaki Island especially in sunny daytime. Be aware of many noisy sightseer in the afternoon. Calm atmosphere in the morning and the evening is also nice. The glass-bottom boat trip for half hour is overpriced. Swimming on the beach is prohibited because of dangerous fast current. You can enjoy walking on the beach.

Current is strong so I didn't see many in the water, but the view was very nice with the many green islands in the bay.

While the bay looks fantastic - that's all you can do. Swimming is not allowed and so unless you want to spend too much money on a glass-bottom boat it's not worth the time and hassle getting there.
