Beautiful bay for kitesurfing. Outside the reef nice rollers while inside the water is super flat even in 25 knots. The spot works during low and high tide. However I recommend to wear shoes due to sharp corals.

One of the most popular tours on ishigaki is the glass bottom boat tour of kabira bay. Since you can't swim in the beautiful turquoise water, I thought this would be a great way to "snorkel" in the bay. Disclaimer: I was on the 1 pm boat, so maybe my experience would have been better on a morning boat. For... More

Kabira bay offers glass-bottomed boat trips out over some coral. the boats are a little run down, and the coral is nice but not amazing. However at about Y1000 per person it's a nice enough way to spend some time. Other than the boats there are a number of tourist shops and places to eat, but I found other places... More

nice bay for watching and taking photos, no chance to swim/snorkel, good for clients of boats taking people for/from trips but boring for active people

There are kitties that live on that beach and the view is absolutely breath-taking! Undoubtedly the best beach on the island but unfortunately swimming is forbidden which is a real shame. That part was a huge disappointment since the only thing you can do is take a few pretty pictures. Still beautiful, though!

Make sure to head up to the observatory for a paranomic view! Also listen and look for cicadas on the trees, really interesting!

We took the bus from the bus terminal, a pleasant ride with many scenic vistas. When we got off the buss we were approached about a 'glass bottom boat trip' ( our daughter speaks japanese so she understood that we were being offered a discount. We followed the woman to her booth a purchased tickets. The tour was in Japanese... More

I have been to Kabira-bay three times in my life. It is breathtaking. Color of the ocean is beautiful and amazing. This is something you can't see mainland. You must add here your must see list.

It is a very nice view and something that you "need" to see. The fact you can't use the beach to swim is a minus if I need to find one.
