Although it took a long time from my place to this Observatory ( I was from Beppu, so i had to take the train to Tozaki then bus to Saganoseki and taxi to this observatory), it was really worth the travel. Very friendly Astronomers there, you are bound to meet one that speaks good english; they don't mind to take the time to explain things to you. A nicely isolated area away from city lights on the other side of the mountain; several of us Gaikoku-jin went to visit it several times. I came home with 3 copies of the same... More
