I was at the hotel for the buffet dinner and light show on grounds of the hotel. Wonderful staff food was well prepared and quite the variety. The beautiful light display was better than any christmas light I have seen here in the states

My son loved the slides, but the wave pool was a bit underwhelming. The outdoor terraced pool was really nice, though a bit much in the summer heat at midday. It’s a nice place to go in the evening when it is lit.

been in this place twice. go to the gender separated onsen area. Beautiful views over the bay and the city. if you are in Beppu its a fun place to visit. Bus from train station goes directly to the hotel. Don't need taxi.

Suginoi Hotel has a very interesting and large onsen complex that includes segregated rotenburo onsens (Tanayu), and a mixed amusement-type onsen where you wear swimming suits (Aqua Garden) - all with panoramic views of Beppu Bay. We found that it could be a good place to start one's onsen experience if you are a couple and prefer to bath together... More
