This was probably my favourite part of our Kyushu and overall Japan Trip. There is a lot to do. Would have enjoyed the hikes at the Cape but not staying down there the drive time is long. They are cheaky at the Cape using incremental charging for the attractions from entry to the cape, charge for the visitor centre, charge for the light house. None of it cheap. The first time I had... The Nichinan Coast is a long strip of coastline centered on Nichinan City, starting south of Miyazaki City and continuing down to Cape Toi. While it in itself is an attraction, it also contains other attractions such as Aoshima and the Udo Shrine. To see it, you definitely need your own transportation. The coastline is beautiful especially on sunny days. The hightlight is stopping by the place called the "Devil's Washboard". Cross the road from the parking lot and go straight to the staircase that leads you all the way down to the wave-shaped rocks known as the "Devil's Washboard" miles on both side of the seaside. Took the bus down to Odojo on return went to Udo Jingu which is worth a couple of hours
