Great big tank

The big tank with the stingrays is great. I didn't find much else to see. The interactive pots are good for children. All in all a nice place for children, and there are plenty!

We went to the Aquarium as it was raining and we wanted to be indoors. It is definitely for children. Everything is geared for them to interact and learn about the ocean animals. The dolphin show is good but again aimed entirely at children. Cost ¥1500

We spent two hours at the aquarium watching all there was to see:dolphin show, feeding time, video explanation and hands on outside pool and the amazing shell collection. At first I thought 1500¥/ adult and 750¥/child is expensive but considering the maintenance expenses , it is worth it! We had a great time!

The wide variety of marines (incl dolphins) makes it an attractive place to visit. Slowly stroll through the entire building to see all marines on display. Make you don't miss the basement area which hosts dolphins.

We didn't pay to enter the aquarium however watched the dolphins and the show (time are posted along the river) from the river bank (more of what we would call a canal) that is rock covered.... the workers zoom up and down the canal, which excites the dolphins as they play in the boats current and wake. The free show... More

If you have time (and/or children) then it's worth a visit to see the main tank which houses a whale shark, rays and some sharks but the real highlight is actually outside (where you don't need to pay) as they feed the dolphins 3 times a day and they leap out of the water next to the walkway and give... Lovely Aquarium. Amazing fish and huge fish tanks. Plenty to see and views of Sakurajima while having a drink and rest. Dolphin shows excellent including dolphin shows outside in the river. A bit long winded with Japanese commentary before start of show but have never seen dolphins in a river like that before. Amazing!

I have been to aquariums and dolphin shows around the world. This aquarium really surprised me by it's high quality. You enter by going up an escalator through a sea tunnel like seascape which is dimly lit. Once you get to the top a big surprise is waiting for you - a huge, wide tank holding many, many sea creatures... More

Due to time restraint, we had no plan to visit this aquarium. But while waiting for bus at nearby pier, we saw groups of people heading towards the pier and heard whistle sound. We realized something was going on and found out it was the Dolphin show time. Three big well-trained dolphins were being fed and we watched the show... More
