Chirin Island (Chiringashima) is an uninhabited island in Kinko Bay roughly 3km around and 90m high. Known as "the island of mystery" since ancient times, it is connected to the mainland by sand bar when the spring tide is at low tide. I took my mom here when she came to visit me because I did this myself and loved it. I found a lot of pretty beach glass, and pumice stones that were orange (from Sakurajima just north in the middle of the bay).
