Excellent location to enjoy cherry blossoms at end of March!

Next to Ohori, worth a stroll in if you're going to visit but unless you're coming during cherry blossom season really does not have much to see and nature-wise Ohori has more to offer. The Fukuoka castle ruins are here , but also not that impressive.

Happily, my weekend in Fukuoka in late-March 2015 coincided with the peak of cherry blossoms. On Sunday morning, I joined the exodus of families, friends, and tourists streaming westward from Tenjin towards the parks. What a wonderful outing and celebration of spring! The park's castle ruins afforded excellent views of both the cherry blossoms and the cityscape. Hundreds of hanami... More

We enjoy riding our bikes here, or just walking, to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the park. It is beautiful no matter what season you visit.

Went to the park because of its garden. Maybe its was a bad time of the year but there was not much interesting to see. Big field where soccer was being played and people were walking their dogs.

April 19 2014 We saw different species of peonies in full bloom. This makes up for all the disappointment we felt at Ohori Park. The trees are also covered with pink flowers ! In my humble opinion, this should be #1 instead of Ohori Park.

Walked around the park to enjoy the Cherry Blossoms in full bloom. Of course it was crowded being the peak Cherry Blossom season. However, it was fun to photograph and walk around enjoying the beautiful cherry blossoms.

Went March 12, just the beginning of spring. was very quiet except for teen playing sports outside high schools nearby. The trees and other plants were special for me, a North American. The few man made items ( stairs, lanterns, ruins of Fukioka castle) made an harmonious complement to the natural scenery. This met my need for tranquillity, and was... More

Maizuru Park is right next to Ohori Park so you can visit both at the same time. It is easily accessible by bus and subway (there is a stop right outside the park). We went when the cherry blossoms were blooming so it was great to just sit in the park, have a picnic and enjoy the flowers. We got... More
