We enjoy riding our bikes here, or just walking, to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the park. It is beautiful no matter what season you visit.

Went to the park because of its garden. Maybe its was a bad time of the year but there was not much interesting to see. Big field where soccer was being played and people were walking their dogs.

April 19 2014 We saw different species of peonies in full bloom. This makes up for all the disappointment we felt at Ohori Park. The trees are also covered with pink flowers ! In my humble opinion, this should be #1 instead of Ohori Park.

Walked around the park to enjoy the Cherry Blossoms in full bloom. Of course it was crowded being the peak Cherry Blossom season. However, it was fun to photograph and walk around enjoying the beautiful cherry blossoms.

Went March 12, just the beginning of spring. was very quiet except for teen playing sports outside high schools nearby. The trees and other plants were special for me, a North American. The few man made items ( stairs, lanterns, ruins of Fukioka castle) made an harmonious complement to the natural scenery. This met my need for tranquillity, and was... More

Maizuru Park is right next to Ohori Park so you can visit both at the same time. It is easily accessible by bus and subway (there is a stop right outside the park). We went when the cherry blossoms were blooming so it was great to just sit in the park, have a picnic and enjoy the flowers. We got... More

Maizuru Park is adjacent to Ohori Park in the heart of Fukouaka. For me, its primary attractions are historic, in addition to the lovely walking paths (and, in late March, a riot of cherry blossoms). Maizuru includes the ruins of Fukuoka Castle, a 17th century complex that was largely destroyed by 19th century historic revisionists who objected to all vestiges... More

Maizuru Park in the center of Fukuoka City is a pleasant park to stroll in. Nestled on a hill amongst the walls of the old Fukuoka castle ruins, it has nice views. At the very top of the castle ruins a viewing platform gives 360 degree views of the city. It is at its best during cherry blosson season when... More
