Located in the Seaside Momochi Area, this museum is one of the famous tourist spots of Fukuoka City such as Fukuoka Tower and Yafuoku Dome gathers. We have combined our visit with a trip to F. Tower and also Yafuoka Dome. Upon entry one sees a large Atrium, Museum shop is quite small at a corner. The exhibition rooms are... More

Fairly big and well displayed. Good selection of artifacts although it is mostly typical fare. Cafe has a nice view!

Local museum, nice restaurant, a bit like the 70tees.... Not expenses, let it be part of your walk through Ohori park.

The museum gives an overview of Fukuoka over the history. The most interesting us to learn about its international relations as port and place of diplomatic relations. Explanation us given in English although unfortunately there is not much explained about the traditions in town which is one of the nicest parts.

It is truly educational if one has the patience to read every panel and exhibit and be prepared to spend 2 hours here. The museum has a fairly good portrayal of the first century commerce, trading patterns... More

Fukuoka has lots of history - I think 1/2 of it is in here. Laid out very educationally. You could spend a full day, but your brain will get tired.
