Without knowing how the mall is actually like, tourists may be attracted to Canal City Hakata simply by the word 'canal'. In fact, the so-called 'canals' are little rivers and fountains within a shopping complex and you don't have any chance to go there by boat. Therefore, I will not recommend it to you if you have a tight schedule... More

This is a one stop shopping, restaurants, and fun place to be. Our hotel, the Grand Hyatt was located right insides this complex and made it easy for us to find places to access ATM, to eat, and to shop.

This place has a great variety of shops, resturants and much more. I think it is a little overrated, at the end of the day it is just one big shopping complex, but if thats what you're after I can't deny it has a lot to offer. There was a great Italian place that offered an 'all you can eat'... More

A charming mall in a beautiful street. The main attraction is the ramen stadium. if you like ramen, they offer a huge selection of different styles of miso, udon and korean ramen. Most restaurants have English menu. The architectural style of the mall is very interesting, you should check it out.

Nothing much in this mall, what are here can be found anywhere else. Structure is confusing with the different wing. Musical fountain is not too bad, intriguing for kids.

This is a huge mall in the city centre with a few towers. Many shops selling shoes and clothing. If you have limited time, this is a place to see many brands under one roof. I prefer the shopping experience at Marinoa City Fukuoka, but that's further away from the city centre (about 40 minutes by bus).

A short walk from the Nakasu Island after dinner at the yatai stalls located along the river. Wide variety of shopping brands to choose from.

If you're not really into ramen, there's not much reason to visit Canal City. It's a rather dated shopping complex, which I suppose, must have seen more glamourous times. Compared to the other malls in Tenjin, this seems like a trip back to the 1990s.

It is just a big shopping mall. It seems extremely popular with PRC tourists. Many of the shop assistants are chinese, and signages in chinese were everywhere. I think the Tenjin area is more interesting, with more variety of outlets and departmental stores in close proximity.
