Fukuoka Tower is a fair distance from the downtown core, without too much else around. It provides a great vantage point to overlook the city and harbour. We were there on a bit of a dull, grey day. Perhaps our assessment would be different if we visited on a sunny day.

The are next to the tower is an attraction in itself, with plenty of seafood restaurants and a nice pier. The tower itself is very beautiful. The view is amazing and the admission is quite cheap.

This is a typical viewing tower like all others in the major cities. However, I find the internal structure of tower unique while taking the elevator up. Going down some stairs from the observation deck, you will find a heart shaped flower arch with a podium in front of it near the opposite wall meant for mounting cameras. You can... More

Due to the Civil Aviation Regulation, there's no higher building than this tower from the airport. Up on the tower, the city and the bay view can be seen. The tower has a western restaurant on the ground level and the gift shop. The nearest city subway station is Nishijin, and if you walk, it may take about 20 minutes.... More

I like views from high place. I've been to many different towers around the world. I had time in Fukuoka, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to go up to the observation deck. Ticket is 800 yen but if you show your non-Japanese passport, it is 640 yen. I didn't know that at that time and paid the full... More

If you like skylines and view from the top, you would like this one. A panoramic view around showing the city and the water. There was a discount for tourists and paid about 1300 yen for 2 people. The elevator ride to the top was pretty cool but kinda gave me a headache. Once we got to the top, the... More
