Cartoon manga, often pornographic, to round out its fiscal activity. If you like your cheap thrills of the PG-13 variety, don’t miss the opportunity to have a cup of coffee and curry rice in any of Akihabara’s unique maid cafes.

Aside from cheep Yugio cards for my son this was something we could have skipped. The consignment cubes in the various stores were interesting, but that was about it for me.

I wanted a place to buy all the funky gadgets Japan is known for, but this was more the place for real electronics and anime. There were quiet a few ramen places that might have been tasty to try. Yoshibashi is around the corner from the JR station and a great place for toys and electronics.

A handful of neighborhoods illustrate the vibe and culture of this City. One is Akihabara. If electonics, video games, anime, or kitch is your thing(s), then this neighborhood will fuel your senses. Check out the SofMap for seven stories of gadgets and gear. Best Buy on steroids. Even if this genre isn't your thing, then this experience is still very... More

You will find the largest variety of electronics and gaming stuff here. Bare in mind, given the large demand from tourist and locals alike, prices won't be "cheap" and you will have to search tactically to find bargains.

Akihabara aka Electric Town used to be the hub of facinating electronics and electrical applicances of the world. Still the greatest concentration of electronics stores, prices and selections are no longer the best in Japan and if not in the world. Over my many visits to Akihabara, the place has changed from a mecca of foreigners trying to get the... More

The area is something far from anything I've seen before! Well worth a visit to watch something that's barely acknowledged in the west be so huge and widely accepted as a norm! Even if you're not yourself into anime and electronics you'll enjoy yourself, even though I recommend being there with someone that understands at least bits of everything that... More

This place is amazing! For anyone who's interested in electronics, music items, instruments, electronic keyboards, cell phones… You name it you're going to see it! Large and small this district has so much to absorb… Be mindful, it's going to take you all day if not three days to fully appreciate and enjoy Akihabara. Don't forget you were again and... More

Akihabara , also called Akiba after a former local shrine, is a district in central Tokyo that is famous for its many electronics shops. In more recent years, Akihabara has gained recognition as the center of Japan's otaku (diehard fan) culture, and many shops and establishments devoted to anime and manga are now dispersed among the electronic stores in the...
