We drop by here every now and then..but always when the roses bloom. The roses at this park are beautiful. This area used to be a gloomy, ignored area but it was transformed into a very nice park. It overlooks the navy base across the water (submarines and ships) and there are fireworks and a celebration on New Year's Eve... More

I love walking at the waterfront and seeing the rose garden. You could also just sit down at the park benches and watch the boats at the sea. Visitors at the park usually go to Daie Mall first or after walking in the park.

Nice place to relax across from the Naval base. There are several variety of roses to take pictures of. They have a great New Years Eve fireworks show on the base that you can watch from the park.

I am staying in Yokosuka for an extended period, and I enjoy Verney Park at least 3 times a week. It's very clean and attractive. Unfortunately, there is garbage in the water, so I don't look there. It's across the water from the Yokosuka Navy Base and Japanese Defense. Visiting Japanese are often taking pictures of the ships. There are... More

The local New Year's Eve celebration was held in this park, and we enjoyed ringing in the New Year by watching fireworks on the water with the area people.

Verny Park is a great place to relax and take a stroll, sit to view the harbor, or simply breathe in some nice sea air. It's about a five minute walk from Shioiri Station and great place to bring your children. I visited this park when the roses were already at its peak. It's definitely a great respite place to... Truly is a lovely little park to walk through on the way to the JR station, but I would be disappointed if I had made a special trip just to come to the park. Pretty rose garden, small play structure, a small museum and a cafe overlook views of the harbor.

We wandered out of the train station and straight into Verny Park. With 4-5 Destroyers and 3 Submarines all lined up you had lovely rose bushes in bloom on one side, the Verny Commemorative Museum on another and the defense force fleet on another. Plenty of benches to sit around and enjoy the views. You an look for bikes in... More
