The location of the shrine is easy to spot from Ashinoko - look for the Torri gate in the lake. This is a great spot for a photograph. The pathway to the shrine rises up from here - there are a lot of steps but it is well worth the climb. Half way up the steps we stopped to watch...

I enjoyed the walk from Moto-Hakone port to the Hakone Shrine extremely. The sights are just unbelievable. You'll know it once you get there. It's indescribable.

You'll be able to spot the grand Torii gates from the boat when coming from Lake Ashi.
Hakone Shrine is situated at a quiet end of Hakone-machi. The walk from the pier to and fro is very lovely in itself.

Beautiful shrine hidden in the mountains. Interesting orange/red architecture that contrasts with the densely wooden area. Was surprised to find there wasn't much information on it in any of our guides. Short walk from the waterfront, where the pirate ship takes off from.
