Nie view of Otaru from above. Accessible from JR Otaru station. Restaurant is not that expensive though. Nice to just sit there and drink coffee and look at Otaru from above.

We stayed in Otaru so this was a $2:20 bus ride and took 20 minutes from the main train station. The views are gorgeous and there are three or so other lifts to get around. The restaurant up the top has panoramic views and serves a good meal for $10 or so. We are very experienced skiers and loved this... More

A short 5 minute gondola ride up to Mt Tengu to see snow covered trees and slopes, skiers and sledders of all ages having fun in the winter wonderland. Good views from the coffee shop too.

We took bus 9 to the ropeway station and then the rope way to mount Tengu. Night view is beautiful. Too bad it's not voted the top 10 best view in Japan (best night view went to Hakodate). We enjoyed coffee and night view at the cafe on the mount. It's very peaceful!!

Stay at Dormy Inn, walk across the traffic lights and take local bus 9 and ride it time the last stop and alight. The view from the bus stop is just scenic. As it was winter we saw a bit of white powder at the top of the mountain and also could see and feel snow flakes falling all around... More

We took the cable car to the top of mount Tengu where there are amazing views over Otaru together with with a lot of ancient shrines, an interesting experience - be prepared to queue for the cable car

Took a bus number 9 from Otaru bus terminal outside Otaru train station to the Tenguyama Ropeway (cable car); it's the last station, no need to worry about where to stop okay! The fare is 220 yen one way. And another 1,020 yen (after discount) for a return trip to the top of Tenguyama (Mount Tengu) using the ropeway. You... More

I got to Otaru in the morning and almost have visited all the stores by 3 pm. Therefore, I took a bus from the bus station just nearby the railway station to the mountain. Only a restaurant up there with few other spots on the mountain. I decided to wait for the sunset on the mountain. Actually, the beautiful night... More

We happened to go there on 29 Aug after our Cape Kamui tour where there is a firework display. So there was a package at 1100 yen which include 2 way bus ride from Otaru station and a returned ropeway fare. There was also festive stalls selling food but there is actually a restaurant on the hilltop. The view is... More

It is close to Otaru central district. Around 10min drive to there. It is one of the 3 major night view locations in Hokkaido. The mountain top is assessed through cable car. There is squirrel feeding and downhill kart activities there.
