This is an interesting part of Hakodate with a lot of history and great views. The slopes are steep so be well prepared to a energetic walks up and down hills. Pick a nice day for good views..Well worth a visit.

most beautiful road view of hakodate. very clean ,quiet , easy to access from walking, biking or bus. connect between motomachi area and the way to bay area. Many trees and flowers along side of the road.

Nice View on top...You can see the beautiful slop. Anyway, there are a lot of slops over there. But this place very popular one.

Not many cars around so it was great for strolling while enjoying the view.Good walking shoes are recommended since the road is a slope.

What we liked: 1) great place for take photos 2) plenty of ice cream shops here 3) scenic and lots of attractions nearby What we disliked: 1) can be quite a challenge if you are walking up the slopes

I love the view. I went there to view the sight and agree that it is beautiful. But that's about it. If you appreciate the view you will like it else it is not for you.

We intended to go up to Mount Hakodate but was stopped by heavy fog so we came back the next day daytime to walk around Hachimanzaka for a leisure walk to enjoy the view and the historical buildings in close proximity.
