About 15-20 minutes walk from train station.

Been there in the evening. In the mid of the city with modern architecture around the small garden and castle. Nothing compare to Matsumoto Castle.

The downside was that nothing was in English so we had to do some guesswork to understand the history

This is the main castle in Toyama, and houses a museum that outlines the history of the area. Even though this castle has been rebuilt it still has a lot of character, and is worth visit when in Toyama.

The area of Toyama Castle includes the rebuilt castle served for exhibition hall, an art museum of marvelous paintings, and also a splendid garden enclosed with a very nice pond. The pond makes me feel very relaxed and I stay there for quite some moments breathing the atmosphere of nature! However, there is no English brochures for the exhibition inside... More

It's a nice castle. The outside is more glamorous for pictures than the inside, but inside has nice exhibits at times. Not while I was there though, but got a couple of good shots in the evening of the castle itself.

Easily accessible from the Toyama Train station, about 15 mins pleasant walk. I only managed to visit this at night due to my tight schedule and it was nicely illuminated at night. It is also accessible by the city tram Centram.

Great historical site in the middle of the city very close to the JR Toyama station. The park is open to the public and there is a great garden within the grounds.

Although this castle is small, the exhibitions are very interesting. The gardens surrounding the castle are very pleasant. In 1585, the warlord Hideyoshi attacked and captured the castle with between 75,000 and 100,000 troops. It is incredible to think about the logistics of organizing and deploying such a large army.

We came when it's already was closed, but it looks nice with a beautiful garden in front of the castle. If you're in Toyama, come to see it
