I was privileged to be guided by Hisa-san on the walking tour in Hida Furukawa. It is a very charming town and not touristy and with Hisa-san's patience in explaining the history, I have really learned alot. I will definitely recommend this tour to all. I will definitely come back and do the cycling tour and trekking.

Great experience about sake - origins, culture, how it is produced. About 2 hours in a sake Brewery. The guide show us some videos about sake and culture of Hida. You can taste two different sakes. I totally recommend it.

One of the best tours we have done! My son booked this walking tour for 27 December for us as Christmas present After catching train from Takayama to Gifu Furwakawa (15 minutes, company gave us exact train times and directions to meeting point). We set off for a two hour guided walk around town visiting local museum, sake distillery, 7th generation... Well worth the money! We took the train to Furokowa then walked to the bike shop which can be hard to find so come early. Then we rode through the countryside with wonderful views and some pauses for the tour guide to share info. Then the ride got harder up hill for a while and as a 50 year old... More

We wanted to take a trip off the beaten path in the Hida region and Ishigawa prefecture but needed some guidance. Shiho and Mayumi at Satoyama Experience provided the assistance by the way of a self guided tour that allowed is to visit Takayama, Hida Furukawa, Shinhotaka Ropeway, Shirakawa-go, Kanazawa and the Noto Pennonsula. When we arrived in Tokyo our... More

We had such a memorable time during our bike tour with Satoyama Experience. I'm writing this review two months after our trip and still look back on the adventure fondly. Our guide, Hisa, was very attentive to our needs and spent 1:1 time getting to know each party in the group. The landscape was beautiful, peaceful, and calm, and the... More

We went cycling on a rainy day. The entire team saw to it that we were all geared up appropriately for the cold weather and the rain. Our guide was Hisa, he would check on us constantly to make sure we were safe and riding by the side of the road. The rain did not relent, my kids (10 year... More
